Why a marmot?
The marmot, a symbol of the Alpine region, is a perfect match for the Winter Games and for Switzerland. It not only represents the connection with the Swiss mountains, but also the cheerful and welcoming spirit that characterizes the Winter Games. The cute mascot will delight athletes and spectators at the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as at the various competition venues.
“Murmeli“ is designed to bring people together – just like the games themselves. The 2025 Winter Military World Games will unite over 1,200 athletes from 43 nations, who will compete in nine exciting sports. The mascot will act as an ambassador for fair play and international friendship, in line with the CISM motto: ”Friendship through Sport”.
